Welcome to The Wounds of the Zodiac, where we explore the past life aches of the astrological signs, houses, and planets through the lens of Karmic Astrology. This work is meant to help you unearth the shadows, reclaim your power, and become more fully you. I will be leaking my manuscript ‘The Wounds of the Zodiac’ slowly to you as a paid reader, uncut, raw, and unfiltered. I hope my body of work can help you liberate yourself in this life and the next.
The Wounds of the Zodiac move in a spectrum, from high to low and everywhere in between. Because of this, you may not experience all wounds that exist within one sign, house, or planet. You will carry your own experience and variation of the wound that you are working with in this life. For this reason, I ask that you not get too attached to something you may find here that does not resonate. What I mean is… don’t make yourself feel like you should experience a part of the wound, if you don’t already. Your specific karmic patterns are yours, and include more than just your birth chart — but also your soul contracts and personal lived karma and experiences. This work is meant to help you understand where you may be working with particular wounds and then begin to move through that wound, through the shadow, to raise your consciousness and become more whole. Over attachment to anything is never helpful. Let’s dive in.
“The more one judges, the less one loves.” — Honoré de Balzac
Though this chapter is not entirely focused on Chiron, I feel his story can help you access a deep understanding what the sacred wounds within by tapping in to what is called the ‘wounded healer’. It’s entirely likely that you’ve heard this term before as it shows up in mythology, the teachings of Carl Jung, and many other lens in self healing. Chiron sheds a light on what it means to have a highly focused energy, a signature that is crafted and mastered in a sense, but can be a pain point or needs healing in this incarnation.
There are many versions of each Greek myth but in one story of the wounded healer Chiron was a centaur born of of the Titan Kronos (Saturn) who raped an ocean nymph Philyra. He was born a centaur and rejected by both his parents and abandoned in some myths, others he is not. Somehow Apollo finds the orphaned Chiron and adopts and raises him and as Chiron is born of gods and so he is immortal. Chiron grows up and masters things such as medicine, prophecy, astrology, botany, pharmacy and the science of herbs and medicine. Homer calls Chiron the “wisest and most just of all Centaurs.” He is known as the master healer, one who can heal any affliction.
Now Centaurs are knowing for being wild, rowdy, and sometimes dangerous. Chiron is the exception to the rule. Yet he gets caught in a moment between other Centaurs and Hercules and is pierced by an arrow dipped in the poison of the Hydra. Though he is immortal, the poison can cause great suffering and pain to the immortals and so begins his journey of living through extreme pain. With all of his knowledge and mastery, being truly the soul that could heal every wound, he learns the one person he cannot heal is himself and must live with eternal suffering and pain. After deep suffering Chiron then makes a deal with Zeus to give up his immortality to free Prometheus from eternal torment and is made into the constellation Sagittarius.
Chiron story reveals a being that is highly energetically focused on his craft as a healer, and even when he cannot heal himself, he saves one last soul to end his suffering. His myth continues to heal many through his legend and lore and what it has done for astrology and psychology.
Chiron shows great focus through his scared work and sacred sacrifice through his ending. This could be why he is sometimes associated with the sign of Virgo in modern astrology.
For someone this will be a painful thing to accept, but it is my belief that we all incarnate with wounds and soul signatures meant to help us and teach us epic lessons here on earth. I believe we make karmic contracts with the people in our lives, incarnate with big soul signatures, and everything we go through including the bad, messy, and ugly is meant to teach us and elevate us on our soul evolution. Some reading these words will not be ready to accept this, some will disagree, and that’s okay. We’re not meant to have all the answers, but through countless readings, students, and clients I have found through the archetypes of the cosmos we are all moving through very particular karmic patterns, lessons, and healing work here on earth.
As Rumi says ‘the wound is where the light enters you’ and through this earthly experience of the wounded healer I offer you a way of looking at your astrology that can help you access the why of soul pain points experienced in your life, the way to liberate yourself, possible lessons being presented to you, and a way to understand yourself in a way that makes everything finally make sense.
